Collection: JOHN-PAUL OLSON

John-Paul Olson is a southern California based printmaker, raised in the Laguna Beach art colony.  During his youth, he found his inclination towards art through stenciling surfboards of local standout and exhibiting work with the Leaf Collective.  J.P. received a degree in printmaking from the University of Arizona where he was exposed to the alternative lithography of Don Ed Hardy and printed along side Tom Huck, Kathryn Polk and other Outlaw Printmakers.  He cofounded the Hurley Printing Press with mentor C.R. Stecyk and continued his childhood passion of painting surfboards, now for world title campaigns and film projects fro friends Filipe Toledo and John Florence.  His painted surfboards have been exhibited around the world from the winter line ups of Pipeline to the Museum of Modern Art.  J.P. currently works as the creative director at outdoor brand Florence and continues to print here in Costa Mesa.
